Friday Round // Week 14

I couldn’t resist posting another picture of our pretty little Golden Gate Bridge today. I snapped this pic last week when Kevin and I took an evening walk along the waterfront. Seriously, that view never gets old. It was fr-fr-freezing cold, but I’m not going to complain about that! As long as I live in the Bay Area I will never tire of seeing or driving across the Golden Gate Bridge (or GGB as my niece calls it).
In other news, guys, my friend Amanda made this chicken sandwich last week, and it was TO-DIE-FOR good. I seriously recommend this recipe. I drooled over that magazine cover when it arrived about a year ago and was so stoked that she made it. I am definitely hanging onto this recipe for future reference. (PS…how gorgeous was her version?)
I’m shipping off for another quick work trip next week. Travel’s been kind of quiet as of late, but next week I’m going all the way east. Been a while since I’ve done that cross country flight. Thinking of dipping into this read to pass the time…anyone read it? What did you think?
That’s it for my random rambling this week…enjoy some of my fav links below!

Please, allow me to dust off this blog…

Recently, I decided to take a conscious few days off of blogging. Somehow those few days turn into a whole week…and that turned into two…and then…what?? How did three weeks just go by?! All I have to say about that is…oops! And more importantly, I’m still here! Thank you to the handful of you out there who have checked up on me (ok, so my mom and the other two). I promise all is well here on the ol’ Serving Seconds homefront! I’ve just been a little bit crazed with the work/school/life juggle…and I think my mind and body were just like, “seriously?”
I’ll get back into my regular posting schedule sometime soon. In the meantime, I’ve been oversharing many of my culinary school adventures over on Instagram so, if you have any interest, please follow along (but only if you’re really really into #foodporn. We’re talking XXX, people).
PS…miss you, love you.

Friday Round-up // Week 10

It’s super late as I write this, but I wanted to pop in for a quick hello before the weekend. This whole week was a blur with a quick work trip to Arizona, an iPhone upgrade (technology hates me)…oh, and then this week’s CSA delivery arrived, and I realized I still had like my whole box leftover from last week. Has that ever happened to you? Seriously! What gives with the warp speed days?
I’ll just be here this weekend catching up on sleep and making a gigantic pot of veggie stew. Wish me luck, and enjoy some of my favorite links below…

Tuesday Tip // Magnetic Knife Holder

When it comes to navigating my way around the kitchen, convenience is the name of the game. Whatever I can do to make things more accessible, within close reach, or easy to clean-up…I’m all over it. One of my favorite ways to accomplish this is to store my knives on a magnetic knife holder. When I’m multitasking my way through meal prep, I can quickly eye which knife I need to use and pluck it right off of the bar. It’s also a great way to store knives as it prevents edges from getting dulled in a drawer or sliding in and out of a knife block. Plus, it looks pretty cool to see all those shiny sharp things hanging on the wall…let’s not underestimate that fact.
